I'm with Rom.
Failing that, Monster, I think having sunflower seeds and a set of keys in the tank is probably a more significant problem than a locked gas cap. Call a mechanic; he should be able to deal with both issues.

Riiiight-o. Umm, have you tried letting your boss know what happened? People can be more forgiving than you think. If it were me I'd just push it to the garage and say it's being repaired, then call a locksmith to look at the gas cap. Good luck man, sounds like you really need it.

OMG. Are we seriously here to get our collective chains yanked? Come on!
Ok. I'll bite. Here's my answer, if I took this seriously at all:
Monster. Whatever you do, don't tell your boss. If word gets back to him that you did this he'll fire you for gross incompetance. That's the last thing you want, 'cause fella, it ain't lookin' good for ya.
I'd say pry the cap open with a long screw driver and blame it on acount a' those daggum teenagers tryin' to steel them some gasoleen. Then, once you've got the cap off, light a match and try and see down there to see if'n you kin git yer hand in there 'n fish 'm out.
Hopin' this helps.

Don't make it worse and get the spare keys, even if it means that you have to ask the car owner (which is probably your boss). But when trying to remove the cap by yourself you will probably just continue the chain of disasters.

Imagine he gets his lockpicks stuck in there, and their hanging out. then your in deeep trouble. Just say you wanted to make one special kid have fun, asked him to open the lid so he was happy, the kid got angry and thew it in. Or you could jsut fess up before the keys get into the piston...

well i did get the situation fixed no thanks to some of you wise elbows. i did it with a pine doorstop and a halh pound hammer but im not sayinng how. besides most of you could figure it out i bet if you really thought abot it as far as the seeds go it wasnt on purpose just osrt of happned and it wasnt a lto of seeds just a few so any of you could have done it. the fuel filter will take care of them anyway i was mostly wanting to get those keys back. next time it maintain that particular vehicle ill swapout the filter and thatll be that. i would of liked to have tried to pick that gas cap but you all just came up with a buch of silly stuff like i was some kind of joker so i guess those are the breaks

this is easy
wait till the sunflower seeds take root (should not take long in gas )
the keys will have landed on the seed so as the plant grows it will push the keys back up to the cap
if you then place a trained ant(dont take long to train very clever or ants) in the cap this will then open the cap you can then remove the keys pull out the plant not forgeting to replace the gas the plant has used
DANGER do not smoke weed next to an open gas tank

The main reason were not telling you how to do it is because you cant just learn how to do something like that in a day. If you could, everyone would be out picking locks, and breaking into places, makeing life very scary. Im slightly parinoid for everone to know...

Well, no, the reason nobody was telling you anything was because your situation sounded either like a joke or like something that should be a joke.

I'm with vector here. And, for the record, I still think this was a chain yanker. Not that I'll ever know for sure.
