What type of lock is that and how to pick?

Postby kev33 » 17 Feb 2022 15:25

Hey, the lock is found on a vending machine which i found in my basement. There is no contact information on the machine so i do not know which company made that. Also paying for a professional lock picker would be too much.

So I thought i would buy a picking kit and watch some videos and try to open the lock. Unfortunately, the lock is very small (thumb for reference). I could only get a short hook inside. The other ones can barely get in and get stuck. Also I could not find a tension tool small enough to fit in. I tried looking for smaller picks and tension tools on amazon.de but unfortunately I think every beginner kit is the same.

I do not know how many pins there are nor how the key looks like.
If someone could provide me more information on how to pick the lock i would be glad.
Thanks.

Sorry mate, but we cannot help a new member with only a close up photo of a vending machine lock. We get these kinds of posts often, and it is rather difficult to prove ownership over the Internet, or if someone has the permission to be picking a certain lock. For example, this could your vending machine in your home basement, or it could be the University's vending machine or other kind of access panel, in a University building's basement.

As much as we like to offer help, we do not wish to offer instructions or information that someone may use to do something unauthorized, or ever if they are authorized to be picking a lock on a vending machine, we do not wish for someone else to find this post in the future and use the information to then do something like picking the lock on a vending machine or laundromat machine. Vending machine discussion is also limited to the Advanced Topics members only area, where trusted members may discuss such topics. Please see Forum Rule #19 for details: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=715

Good luck and have a good evening,

Squelchtone
