Which type of tension tool would I need for this lock?

Postby mainger2 » 22 Mar 2023 23:52

I'm a beginner. I have practice locks, and a few padlocks, etc, which I can pick well enough.

However, I'm at a loss about how one would approach a lock like the one in the photo below. I only have 3 standard L-shape tension tools, and I can't seem to either get any tension, or get any space to insert picks in... Looking at my key, I guess I need to pick the top and the bottom of the lock, at the same time? Which type of tension tool would I need for this lock?

Thanks!

Looks like a knock off of the 1970's Schlage wafer lock design.

EDIT: I was told that this is not a knock of of the Schlage wafer lock, your lock is copy of the Japanese MIWA U9 lock as seen here:

disregard everything I said below this line...

I remember seeing this tool being sold but never seeing on in use:

Here's a video of one that LockPickingLawyer did:

Very useful, thank you! I'll see if I can find a tool close enough to that one to have a go at the lock. I'll keep you posted :)

I edited my post above to show that this is a copy of a Japanese MIWA U9 lock mechanism.

Also, OP, please don't pick Keisen University's locks, we do not support people picking locks that are in use or locks that are not their to be picking, even if they were issued a key to a particular door.

Thank you,
