Mounting Board for Locks

Postby Elijah » 19 Apr 2005 20:20

Hey all,

MiT brought lock mounting back into my mind with his recent post about using cardboard. I just wanted to know what you guys suggest for material, presentation, mounting, and placement. Finals are ending the first week of May up here and I'm going to start my workbench / mount as soon as I get back.

Also, please post any pics you can of your current mounts. I want to get some ideas on how to make it attractive. I'm so neat its unhealthy.

Suggestion: Take a tour of the lock department of the larger home improvement centers. Many of their locks are mounted in upright wooden stands that have a pivot so the customer can spin the lock around to see both sides.

I, myself... use a simple upside down "T" made from two boards glued together. . ..not worthy of picture taking.

Er... heh.

The lock's just glued to that board, board's clamped to the desk... I take it off when I want to repin it.
