Postby nextlevel » 27 Jul 2005 15:44

I am looking at lockpickshop.com and trying to figure out what set is going to be the best set to get or if maybe multiple different pick sets would be better. I am looking to spend about 100 or so us dollars and want to be able to almost anything. any ideas for a noob would b helpful as i would like to order them ASAP and get started

Buy these:

Buy some locks to practice on with the rest of the money.

Take the time and practice. :)

Well I have tried to use my dremmel tool and went through the cut off wheel and all in all it seems to be to slow and ate through my cut off wheel not even half wat through making a jr. blade style pick. I was looking at the 32 pc. set but for not much more you can get the 69 pc. set. dunno. I know I need some practice because doing this steelcase desk lock with a few paper clips is not going to help me do some real locks like I have laying around.

i agree with sportsguy. get something simple yet versitile. i have the majestic 13 piece set plus a couple of other tools that are useful like the homemade allen wrench tension bar, a couple of picks i use for wafers. also look around and see if there is a couple picks that you think are necessary that arent in the set.

well to me it seems as though I would need all of the 32 pcs. set as I have none now and am having a bit of trouble making them with my dremmel.

if you have the money then by all means get the extra picks. i suggested few mainly because i am a poorly college kid and i just kinda wanted one of pretty much every thing. however another plus to having fewer picks is that it makes you learn to be better with what you have. that is one of the reasons that i started out with just a 5 piece set.

well I think I might get just the 32 pcs. set and maybe a few other little gadgets. I would really like a car lock out kit but may have to try and fab my own if i ever get the money for a good bench grinder
