Hi,
Does anybody know if you can still get the old Black and Decker screwdriver that HPC use for their pick. I Have the older orange one and it's coming to the end of its life ( taking less of a charge ). I was going to bolt my pick section on to a new body or just swap the batteries ( if possible ). Does anyone know how the HPC pick compares to the Southord electric picks ?

Ive seen a couple for sale in local shops now and again, not sure if they are still made, if you mechs are ok just buy some new batts, they are only some nicads inside, you can get replacements form places like Maplins

I think the HPC is considered the one to have if you are trading.

I don't think that will be the case for much longer Shrub, it sounds like the Wendt gun beats them all hands down.

Yep, the Wendt is the one to have, rarely fails. Not bothered what I see on the door any more, be it Gege, Corbin, Asec, you know the Wendt will probably get it open.

EvoRed: I've been looking for more info on the Wendt, but nor really getting too far. Does it really have frequency control, and how much do you find you use that if so? Presumably there is an amplitude control, and presumably it's easy to set. I'm trying to see what advantages you get for 3 times the price. Or is it available cheaper in the uk?

No, it doesn't have frequency control but you can adjust the bounce.
If you get the whole package, which is about £400, then you get many different shaped needles, wrenches, a plug spinner and circular tension tool.
The gun appears quicker than the HPC and the needles also make a lot of difference, and are thinner, allowing you to use the gun on tight keyways such as Asec with no problems. If you can't get a cylinder open with one then using a different needle will usually do the trick.
You can purchase the needle's separately and they will fit on a HPC gun, which I'd recommend if you're not going to buy the gun.
