Lock Picking Help

Postby picklock-newcomer » 2 Oct 2005 19:02

I stumbled across this site when I was searching for ways to get my Dudley combonation lock combonation. I say lock picking and I read about it. I have a masterlock pin-tumbler. I know that I must stick the pick into the lock and align the pins while appplying slight pressure. But I havnt found a source that can tell me what order to push the pins up. And I dont know if this is the lock or just me, But I cant hear a click. Could I be putting to much pressure on the tension wrench?
A tutorial on picklocking would help to, forgive my stupidity.

You could try the MIT Guide to Lockpicking. You can google for it, or find it linked in the left panel at www.locksport.com

Good luck, and happy picking!

What can I use for a good pressure wrench?

You can get all of this info by searching the forum and reading the MIT Guide, but here's a couple hints:

Street sweeper bristles work great if you can find them
The metal inserts from wiper blades are also great.
You can make them from junior hacksaw blades, but that's more work and, IMO, not even as good.

Happy reading... then picking!

Alright, I got a sheet of metal and cut about .2 by 8 inches and bent the last inch to a 90 degree angle. And I picked the lock! I found out I had to find the pin that was binding the most and push it up, then continue that step. This is kind of addictive.... lol, Thanks for the help.

Heres another way to do it. Its alot slower, but doesn't require any picking. I tried it, and it actually works... nice for show though.
