Nix-Pix Lock?

Postby Pickermeapie » 19 Oct 2005 18:09

Hey all,
I took a glance at a lock like this one today. http://www.lockpicking101.com/viewtopic.php?t=4674&highlight=tubular I think it is a Nix-Pix lock but im not sure. Anyone know if it is or not? I read in a book about them but a google search yeilds no results. and the other post really didn't answer what kind of lock it is.

These are referred to as inverted 6 pin tubular locks. HPC makes a pick, but its fairly pricey.

Does this lock work on the same principal as regular 7 Pins? How is the tension applied? are they easy to defeat? I always heard/read that tubulars have ball bearings between the "top" and "bottom" pins to reduce wear, but from what I remember they were always on the bottom pin. BTW thanks chucklz.

I've never had a go at these, as I have yet to find one for sale. But, like all tubular locks, you have fairly easy access to the pins. Just find a convenient tension method.
