Ilco Security Padlock

I snapped this padlock up at work after I read the front cover. It's even endorsed by the M.L.A.A. (Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia)



It seems to be a direct challenge to a lockpicker. It states a "Registered Security Keyway" which is slightly obscured by shadow. There is a small ridge on the right side of the centre of the plug.



And also an "Anti Pick Plate". What exactly is an anti pick plate?

So, my question, what is an anti pick plate and why doesn't it work?

Anti pick ptes can be anything:

I'd give it a fair guess with a bit of knowledge and say its a plate at the end of the cylinder which stops anyone from using wires to draw back the locking dogs.

hmm, I'd suggest to make your own. there is a nice vid at zekes page. Just search fro his site and password. Look for pyro's video on making picks.

or , uhhm just get those nifty set from falle. Everyone seems to like those.
