Someone mentioned 'stevehampton' who sells several books on lockpicking, and I would just like to say, that if you have been reading this forum for a while, you already know more than he ever put in his books, as I have said before, he writes pages and chapters on the simple pin tumbler lock then covers medeco in a single paragraph that simply asserts that it can be picked with a twisted diamond pick, (has anyone ever done that, I know that people here have picked medeco, but I have never seen one of them mention a twisted diamond pick, and it would seem to matter that the pick cannot be twisted in both directions,) I doubt that this hampton has anything to do with the lock manufacturing industry. hes in the authoring for paladin press industry. Many of the lp101 members are much better pickers than this guy seems to be from the knowlege hes selling.

mountain security

Postby raimundo » 17 Jul 2006 10:18

I once found a lock that could be shimed from the front, it was something like a mountain security lock, if you have one of these, look for the flange on the front of the plug that keeps shims out, if its not there, get a shoplifting security tag, one of the rectangular capsule things stuck on stuff at best buy and cut it apart for the shims inside, these can be inserted if there is no flange to keep them out. use a pick to lift the pins as you put it in.
