Best padlocks

Hey all,

I was just wondering if it is possible to insert a 6 pin best core into a six pin best padlock, without the control key, if you only had the change key?

Thanks
John

You can try picking the control line open by putting pressure on the locking tab so that you only torque the control sheer line. Once it is picked, the tab will move in so that you may insert the core.

Alternatively, you can shim the control open if your core has a C ring in the back holding the core together. Just snap off the C ring and shim it at the control, then put the C ring back and insert the core. Some cores have rivets in the back which cannot be removed, so shimming wont work.

Why don't you buy the contol key and the core at the same time?

It will make it a lot easier when you want to change the core.
