Just got this off of ebay about a week ago, pretty pleased with it, kinda disappointed that it's just a 6 pin lock and not one of ASSA's sidebar locks, but it's still a shrouded-shackle ASSA padlock so it's still pretty cool. Anyway, can someone please tell me how to disassemble one of these suckers?? Also, what kind of cylinder does it use? I'm guessing Euro half-profile, but I'd like to know for sure. Thanks.

Oh, and by the way, what it says in the upper right hand corner there in the first photo that's a bit difficult to make out is "ASSA RUKO 3".

I've seen those around - good stuff and very solid lock. You see them used to lock up motorbikechains and storefronts.

I've once opened something very much like that - it wasn't a ASSA RUKO though but the design look just like it. Mine was a half euro inside as yiu think and I used a screwdriver and drill to remove the metalpart around the cylinder. Then I picket the lock and was able to turn and remove the cylinder. That might not work on your version though. Good buy - keep it around.

ok i got it apart

what you need to do is shim the top rail out,

then take of the top cap,

take out the plug bit and spring,

undo the screw and the cylinder pops out :D

hope this helps mate,

Or, get the metal bits out of those thin security tags you find on CDs and DVDs, they work brilliantly.
