in the 4th picture from the top,there is a dent in the hull of the lock,is that there for a reason,or a manufacturing error? or just physical damage?

actually its pretty obvious damage, its a drill dimple, and it has such cratering effect, (the raised spall on the edges) that you can tell that the drill bit was very dull and the driller was using brute force and stupidity to put that there. :?
