Federal 90A

I found a fairly new lock laying around my house ,no keys, its a red federal 90A, Anyone ever try to pick one of these? Im a noob to picking and all ive picked is a magnum 40mm and a circular uhaul lock.It feels like there is alot of security pins, and the federal site says it has some sort of anti pick device.

never picked a federal, but usually when a company brags about "anti pick", or "pick resistant", it usually means they have tossed in a couple of spool or serrated pins. it should pick like any other lock with security pins in it - unless it has a side bar or something funky like that in it - but I doubt it. any pics of the lock?

federal lock was the final lock to open at the dutch open. Only 1 of the finalists managed to open it 1 time.

;) As I was talking to Melvin a while back, you can never discount a particular bitting or luck. I'm sure you'll pop it before long. It's also worth noting that the finalists only had 10 minutes at a time to pick at them, and you've got all the time in the world :)

Keep attacking it!

WOW...I actually picked it, its a 6 pin and it had 3 serrated bottom pins and 5 top spool pins, the first top and bottom pins look like they are made out of steel.I used a really crappy homemade pick made out of a hacksaw blade and i put the back of the plug in a vice and just turned the cylinder with my finger for tension.
