Nope, every Medeco I've ever had was equipped with a wide-open cam.
Now Abloy uses standard open cams, but they are not suspectible to this bypass because the keyway isn't cut all the way through the plug.

petersen wires

Postby raimundo » 4 Apr 2007 11:46

the petersen wire bypass works on cylinders that you can pass a wire clear through under the pins, not all cylinders or the cams on the back have a pass through, so the wire will only work on some installations. the adamsrite swing bolt is one of the strongest bolts available, with a inch and a half to two inch throw, but someone mentioned in another thread about the bolt swinging up. which is the common installation, while the common attack would be to try to push it down, Now AR is rated by UL as able to take 20,000 lbs of pressure downward, without breaking the lock, but not without breaking the aluminum door. still I would not have designed it to swing up, swing down and stop at the horizontal locked position would probably be stronger. Consider the probable line of attack, and they do not just oppose that with strength, but also make it difficult to approach, so that just mounting an attack cannot be done easily, a bit like mounting locks higher on the door than a kick attack can strike with force. or lower than a kick can be forceful. there is an effective area for kicking and its not low or high.
