Hmmm... I'd really like to give you some information, but I think this might be a lock only discussed in the advanced forums. So I'll let someone of higher authority comment first before I say anything.

whatsthedeal

Postby raimundo » 17 Mar 2007 11:25

yeah, whatsthedeal with that little pin, its not much deterrent to picking, but here in the US, it can relock at 180 degrees and if you don't have chewing gum to stick to it and pull it back up, its just trouble,
Are these kaba peaks from best or the one of the other varieties?

Kaba Peaks has a complete Peaks service manual in PDF format that can be downloaded for free from their website. I just finished a 200 cyl job and should have a few extra blanks laying around. C1 & C2 only. I don't have any "Global" keys or cyls.

I beleive the little "extra" pin and bump on the key is more as a protection against the production of blanks by other companies (as this feature is patented).

I am not familiar with peaks blanks c1 and c2, are these non-restricted blanks?

You buy them from that freight place? That's where I got my peaks, but the listing didn't say "uncombinated" didn't even have a photo to properly indicate it. Pretty bummed.
