Wouldnt that damage the already messed up door. If your gonna do that then just use a shim or a credit card. He should try that first.

None of my suggestions on this thread were meant to be taken seriously. Especially the one involving gun powder. You're probably right, unless the strike is aligned nicely so that the deadlatching pin is adequately depressed, a credit card swipe would be effective. I recall the OP saying that this event marked the beginning of his/her lockpicking career and thus, he/she has probably found some picks and commenced SPP/Raking in order to get this shed open.

Go to store, buy a Schlage Deadbolt and Knob set, and a Big Ol' Pipe Wrench, and a Plasma Cutter.

1. Use the Plasma Cutter to open plastic packaging on Schlage.
2. Use Pipe Wrench on doorknob.
3. Install new Schlage following directions in package.
4. Throw a BBQ to celebrate your first time entering without a key.
5. Send me the Plasma Cutter, I've got some blister packs I need to open.
6. Chastize yourself for not opening the lock in a "sporting manner".
