"Euro Spec" E*S 10 and 15pin euro profile locks?

Postby JackNco » 2 Oct 2007 16:25

OK so Im after any info you lot have on the Euro Spec 10/15pin profile locks.

I gave these guys a call after some info as the Interwebs were giving me nothing. With a name like Euro Spec I was getting google results on everything from random euro locks through to car tuning. even with specific lock models I didn't get far apart from a result that listed them (and Sterling) over MTL. So I didn't want to waste my time on there.

Anyway. the 10Pin is a regular looking key with Side pins which I Can only assume are passive.

The 15pin is the interesting looking one. it looks like a dimple lock with a vertical key way (think KABA Gamini) with 2 rows of pins on each side. But Euro Spec claim it has 3 rows on each side of the lock. which means that the regular place for pin stacks is empty.

It also has some kind of patented system involved. They Couldn't Find the patent number there and I cant find the thing online.

I'm interested because this looks like they have released some quite secure locks. and if any of you have tried picking a regular 5pin E*S you will know what I mean when I say it may as well not be there.

Anyway If You know any thing please let me know.

All the best

John

One of my local hardware stores has purely E*S cylinders as well as hardware. It is only the 5 pin version and I didn't even bother buying it due to how cheap it looked. I presumed it was just another yale knockoff brand, interesting to hear they make high security stuff also.
