I recall hearing something about the new sesamee lock was "patched" so the standard sesamee decoder will no longer work?

they are almost the same as the master i cut one a part and plan to post the pics in here. still if any one knows how to decode the combo from them or how to reset it to a known combo i would like to know so i can at least give him back one working.
thanks if you can and thanks if you can't

It is the same design as its affiliated master lock. Your question has been discussed here many times. I don't believe there is any way to decode the combination or reset the combination without disassembling the lock and destroying the lock body. Although if you figure anything out, please let us know!

you need to use the sesame method to decode and open. once unlocked there is a hole on the side. there is a key that pushes on the spindle that the wheels ride on. once pressed, you can then move the wheels freely into their new combination. remove the key and the combination is the one you set. you don't need the key to make this work, any pointy object pushed into the hole and held with pressure will allow to to disengage the spindle. The shackle must be in the open position first for any of this to happen.

Pull up on the shackle of the lock while slowly rotating the dials one at a time. There will be a spot on each dial that will catch slightly. That is your number. Do that with all dials and you will have your combo. With practice it's not hard to open these locks.

I have a master #175, actually i didn't even try playing with it till i saw this thread yesterday, so last knight i looked at the lock for a while, knowing how it works, i used a flash light and literally lined up the flat spots inside the lock, no shims, no feeler gages, just a flash light at a right angle, and a little pressure on the dial to push it as far left as the slot allows you to and the lock will reveal you its secrets ;)

Once you find the flat spot, note the digit it corresponds to, your combination digit is 2 digits below, so like if the flat spot is at 8, then your combination digit is 6, 1 is a 9, and so forth.

But yes, if you have the sesame feeler, knowing where to insert it, you can definitely find the flat spots, i tested it yesterday, works. Oh hint on those heights, take a marker and make a line on the feeler to have a reference point.

I don't know about you guys, but on the locks I have the dials are really really tight. Like, I have spent many an hour with a magnifier and a high power fluorescent light and haven't seen a thing.

Well, the other thing is that the lock that i am describing has seen lots of use, and is quite old, so i guess that unlike medeco (which seems to have higher tolerances throughout the years) master has lowered their tolerances (making their combination lock wheels tighter), making it harder to just visually find the combination... You should still have no problems using a feeler gauge though :D

i found that the main diffence is there is two wheels between 1st and 2nd wheel and one between 3rd and 4th. it seems that i can get to the fisrt one on each sidd with a automotive feeler one of the thinest which means that i only have totry 100 combos of the other 2 numbers
