Brinks Disk lock pins?

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

Brinks Disk lock pins?

Postby Lockdown27 » 31 Dec 2007 12:45

Does the Brinks disk lock have security pins? If so how many. I just picked it up and because Its a disk lock its hard to tell if its a false set. But I have gotten it to a false set. So the main question anyone know how many or picked it before.

I got you on this one mate,

These locks have 3 spools in the rear 3 chambers with a standard M1 keyway.

The plug is spring loaded so using that is your advantage.

Take a thick tensioner and crank the tension. Lift one pin at a time, while lifting decrease tension enough only to lift the pin with out damaging your hook.

Once the sheer is caught, crank the tension again. And repeat 3 more times and it shoudl open, practice it 5 minutes and they all fall open in under 30 seconds.

The spring poaded plug throws everyone off, but there a sinch.

Glad to see another pennsyvainian in here :P

Good luck mate.

Thanks I can get it with ease now. I plan on getting another brinks today. The one that people complain is hard. With the full metal casing and covers most shackle. The brinks secruity shrouded I believe. Saw it at the mart.. (hard to buy so many locks Cause fast food restaruants don't pay well) Is that a hard lock?

use a vertical tensioner or put a paper clip in the warding on the bottom left so your tensioner doesn't slip.

Just do the binding pin routine, these always get a false set, but thre very easy to read.

SHould be a good challenge though, after you get that one, then the American brand padlocks are pretty good.

Good luck mate.

Ah, the Brinks R70. I got one of these a while back and I remembered having difficulty. I tried picking it, and it didn't seem to bind any of the pins. Then, I read that it requires a crapload of tension because of a spring behind the plug. With that bit of info, I just cranked up the tension and it turned a bit more, then just stopped turning, then I found the right tension right around there. I can pick it pretty consistantly right now. The Brinks Shrouded is TOUGH, well at least it is for me.
