Medeco pin spacing and parts exchange

I realize that picking medeco's is restricted to the secret handshake society section but hopefully my question is innocent enough to be asked out in the daylight.

My question is about pin spacing and design of both the classic medeco and the medeco biaxial. Are the pin spacing's, pin diameters, etc the same? Can I take biaxial pins, install them in a classic lock and now have a bi-axial lock and vice versa?

Or did medeco re-design the lock cylinders or pins (other than creating fore and aft pins) when they created the biaxial?

I don't think the depths are the same, however I know the spacing is. Also the diameter is the same I believe. So up until now, your plan should work, however... The locater tab that restricts rotation is roughly 90 degrees away from the sidebar groove on original and roughly 180 degrees away on biaxial. This also includes the respective slots milled alongside the pin chambers in both the plug and shell. Therefore, original pins will not work in biaxial and biaxial pins will not work in original. Sucks don't it?

Thanks for the info. I've only got one biaxial and a biaxial cam lock. I'm getting a classic sub assembly (no pins) and thought I might be able to interchange parts.

Oh well.
