I may have broken my padlock. Help please.

please help i have a lock it is master lock. i think it might be a #3. it has a lot of rust and in the keyhole if you look closely you can see the spring the keeps it locked shut. can i break that spring possibly? if so how?

Can you post a picture? If it is a master #3 there is no way you are seeing a spring that "keeps it locked shut". Seems to me you may have a warded padlock.

It's going to be either a pin tumbler lock or a warded lock.

If it's a pin tumbler lock, then the keyhole will look something like this:

Also, when you look in the keyhole you should be able to see a brass pin that is sticking down from the top the height of the two top 'I's in the crappy diagram. You won't be able to see the springs in this case, they will be packed into holes above the pins.

Most Masterlocks say the model number on them somewhere.

ok here is a picture sorry if it is hard to see. and no it is not warded. it has one row of pins. 4 pins maybe 5 pins. i have tryed to pick it so many times the keyhole got up.
