Info on M3 BiLevel falle-groove pins and Original BiLevel

Postby mitch.capper » 21 Jan 2008 2:17

Recently I had the privilege to talk with Han Fey, he was kind enough to inform me about some errors I made in my Medeco M3 write up.
You can see the new information at:
http://mitchcapper.com/cutaways/factory/9-medeco-m3-and-m3-bilevel/#corrections

(if the link doesn't anchor properly the new information is like the last two paragraphs).

While I won't just repost the information I figure it is interesting enough to be talked about over here.

Primarily I am wondering if anyone else has encountered or has additional information on the original BiLevel. Han actually owns the original BiLevel, but had not heard of it being used any where (and no one I have talked to has heard/seen it before). Han says that Medeco does say it is available to anyone when he talked to them.

Further more I couldn't find the information on it anywhere on the US medeco site about the bilevel, and I think it may have been sold under another name in the US.

Anyway if anyone has more information:)

hey! great write up! i own an m3 and I have just moved past Kwikset and schlage in my lock picking evolution, and I can't wait to start picking this one. The pictures of the mushroom pins anre very good, and it is nice to know that this lock is close to where I should be after just starting in december.
