I got a brinks padlock, i'd say its a 40mm or so searches pretty good but couldnt find anything on brinks....only tried it a few times. Anyone have these its got the blue case that covers the keyway with a clip on deally.
Any input would be cool

I'm not sure exactly which Brinks lock you're referring to ("blue case that covers the keyway with a clip on deally"), but the locks do come up in discussion here fairly regularly:

Generally, the higher-end Brinks locks have pretty good tolerances, and at least a few security (spool) pins. I have a couple that provide me with a good picking challenge -- but would have caused me a lot of frustration when I was first starting out.

I have been able to open it once so far, i got it off a guy who lost the key and bought a new set. I searched for a number of different ways of saying brinks padlock, or just brinks and I got nothing...Im not bad at picking just wanted to hear from everyone about my new piece

I don't know the exact model, but brinks uses spool pins to make lockpicking more interesting, you probably want to look up spool pin picking in one of the stickies, probably on the lockpicks manual section.

So I cleaned the lock out with WD-40 and brake cleaner, got a whole bunch of crap out of it... so much for weather proof-ness Thanks Raimundo, for the spool tip, thats what i was wanting to know...what was inside, I know how to get by spools, just didn't know if they/it had any or was just all dirty and crappy...so I guess it was both

I find myself preferring my spool pin locks. They provide SO much feedback, once you know what you're feeling. Going to locks with only one or two or even NO spool pins, they just feel mushy. Then again, they require more tension typically and I've gotten to the point where I can pretty much just lay my finger against the tension wrench on the 5-spool locks and know what is going on. You don't get away with that little tension on say the #40 or #572 Masters.
