Wondering if anyone has seen little ABUS (almost luggage lock size) in Porta-Crappers?
I will try to post a few pics in the next few days. I couldn't believe my eyes but, then again how often do we really examine a portable loo?

If you had a disgusting yet fascinating fetish you would.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

Fetishes aside, let me clarify, The lock is attached to the metal rod that secures the toilet paper to the crap shack itself. I was surprised that a reputable (sp?) lock maker such as ABUS would wind up in the porta-jon securing toilet paper.

Dude thats totally necessary! Haven't you ever rushed to the loo cos of a sudden explosive diarrhea attack out in public that you cannot contain and only to find all the toilet paper gone in the only stall that was open?
But seriously, maybe the people who put them up had incidents before where kids stole the toilet paper and went on a vandalism spree. I'm sure it gets pretty costly if this kind of thing happens too often, which I'm pretty sure it does. Back in high school just about every portable toilet they put up got vandalized or otherwise messed up in some way.

That would totally make sense but this is out in a training area on a Marine base and as a Marine myself I have better things to do than steal toilet paper.

I suspect that even in military establishments theft of things which aren't locked or screwed down can be a problem. I'm sure even US Marines have been known to play pranks. It certainly used to be the case that in British Army establishments the toilet paper rolls (tracing paper style) had "Government Property" printed on every sheet!

Here is the poop shack in which the locks resides.
It appears to be an ABUS 55/25.
The lock itself only appeared to be a 4 pin-tumbler lock.
Since it wasn't my lock to mess with, pictures are all I can get for you guys.

I got one of those at work... stubborn lil git! Im pretty sure that it only has one security pin... mine is the third pin which makes it a pig because you need a deep hook to push the sec' pin back but the front pins get in the way when pulling the pick out....

some of the mini abus are very easy to open, either no security pins or ones that simply don't work. Of course, there are a lot of different abus locks. but these things are equivalent to master locks. probably chosen by the portapotty contractor, not the maureens.

Give a really bored teenager such a mission, a bolt cutter and a couple of bad influences and he'll swipe every toilet paper in whatever distance he can cover in a bicycle for absolutely no reason.
