Does having some kind of inside bolt not have the exact same effect as this? Security for when your inside, like in a toilet? Could someone explain how this is enhancing security more than that?

Nope... that's about the entire contribution. (Although one could argue that kicking in a deadbolt should be harder for thieves than kicking in a door locked with a surface-mount barrel bolt... but that's about the only advantage that I can think of.)

humm.... Would it be possible to replace the cylinder, but still use the deadbolt assembly?

That could provide a much more secure lock.
