So I have a corbin lock, more specifically it uses the CO108 key, so I been picking at it yesterday, and after a few tries, I managed to pick it in one direction and realized afterwards it was the wrong one, then I picked it the otherway, I was able to turn the lock almost 180 degrees, but once the pins were on the bottom (170 degrees turned) the lock would only budge a little (maybe 3 degrees or so) and would push back if u tried to turn it, and wouldnt unlock the deadbolt.
So basiclly in a nutshell, you know the feeling u get when u unlock a deadbolt, just before the bolt actually turns, there is that resistance, thats what I felt, but can only turn it a little afterwards, and cant turn any more.
Is there a sort of anti pick device built in, where even if u got past the first set of pins, there is a second set, oh btw its also has a master key, I dont know if that makes a difference, and yes the key does work, what am I doing wrong.
Thanks guys.

It does. A master pin might have fallen into the keyway. Try taking a pick with a flat bottom and using the flat bottom to push up where the bottom of the key way is and turn it in the opposite direction. I'll sketch up a pic of what's on in a moment (squelchtone had made one before but I can find it now.)
Btw, is this lock in use? If this was only about picking it then it wouldn't matter whether it turns a bolt.

You are picking a lock that does not belong to you, yes I will go out on a limb and say that without a doubt...regardless if it does or not I would also bet money this lock is in use....no good man...you should have waited to advise anything... IMO

I think I have an idea on what you are talking about, but a picture would definitely most helpful. The lock is not in "real" use, I just mounted it on a slab of wood on sitting on my desk for more realism, so I guess it doesnt really matter if it turns the bolt or not, but it would just be nice to be able to fully turn the lock.

Look, I dont want to start an argument or anything, but u would be wrong because the lock isnt in use, I picked it up at a flee market. It only had one key that came with the lock. I know it has a master key because I took the pins out, and their was multiple stacks.
I'll take a picture of the lock later if it makes anyone happier to show that its a practice lock on a little mount that I made myself for learning to pick purposes.
So next time dont assume what you dont know, because it makes u look like an ass.

When I saved it the format conversion changed the colors. Oh well. I'm not saying that this is exactly what's going on, but I think it's this or something similar.

Bumber, it's ok to ask if the lock is in use before offering help. However assuming that it is and smarting off even AFTER the OP has offered an explination makes you look foolish. If you don't want to help him then just leave the thread alone.

Good one Safety and well said freakparade.
Anyways, you might want to check your floor around where you picked that lock. Master wafers are small enough they they can fall though the wards on the key way and fall to the floor.
