Idea: Coated Security Pins?

So, I've had an idea kicking around for a while that a particularly evil security pin would look a bit like a spool or mushroom pin, but have the middle section filled with a polymer sleeve, possibly cast onto the pin. I would think that a number of different durometer polymers could be used, to make feedback even more difficult.

Much like there are serrated bottom pins, the same idea could be used on at least the longer bottom pins, possibly in the form of a little “hatâ€

with the right polymer it would be possible, given the high cost of most HS locks it wouldnt matter of the cost if it was something that worked well...

Thats a pretty good idea. It'll probably make the lock feel all squishy like a Kwikset Smart key and make feedback a nightmare.

My thought is that when the lock is new it would function normally but as the lock ages and dirt and debris entered the lock (which would be inevitable) those pins would get dirt embedded in them and hamper the normal functioning of the lock. I would think that is why the internals are metal. More durable. Just thought also with a polymer, there is a better likely hood that some solvent might find it's way inside the lock and render the mechanism useless which would probably make the owner not happy.
