I haven't had the chance to play with one of these yet. But I have the feeling it's only a matter of time before service calls for these locks start coming in. They are Kwikset after all, even their simplest locks fall apart and are renowned for their lack of security and overall cheapness.

I don't think there is any way to make this work. The sidebar is at the 9 o'clock position and the comb would need to enter at the 6 o'clock position.

Just a little info on this lock.

The reset hole hits a chamber and allows you to push the chamber in which disengages the wafers from the pins. Yep, I said pins, at least in my lock they are pins! They have a lip on them that engages the serrated wafers. When you push something into the reset hole it will push the chamber which holds the wafers. This is possible because the chamber has a spring behind it, but it can't be done when the lock is in the locked position because of the design of this lock. When in the correct position the chamber can be pushed back thus disengaging from the pins from the wafers, and when in the correct position it will lock in this pushed back position. This allows you to enter the new key and when returned to the locked position will allow the chamber to return to the forward position locking in the wafers and pins in the correct location for the new key to work.

Did I explain that to where it makes since?
