In fact the lock someone wants me to look at is a 'Titan' KIK. I found the info on cylinder removal via the back of the lock, but I don't have the removal tool. Cylinder removal from the front will save alot of time.
I just read something that may help you..
some website wrote:Titan is no longer made. It has been replaced by either UltraMax or Kwikset Security (I don't off hand know which). Either model is a lock that would be good for most homes, but I would never use them on a commercial application.
The single cut on the backside of a Titan key (KW10 or KW11) is for removing the cylinder on a Titan (and its replacement). This is to make it easier to rekey the lock (since the whole lock doesn't have to be removed). Of course the key has to be copied to the existing key as well as to the new key, so you would have to make a new key with a slot just to reinsert them.
The first cut on a Titan key has to be made with a different angle, basically flat on the shoulder side. The other cuts are made with a normal cutter wheel.
hope it helps
