Lockwood Padlock (119/50/129/DP) Help.

Postby icedevil » 18 Feb 2008 0:33

Hi,

I recently bought a lockwood padlock (119/50/129/DP is the information on the package) and its a Rating 5 Secuirty.

By luck I've opened it a few times, but I believe there is security pins inside. Could someone tell me if my assumptions are right, and if so, how many?

Struggling a bit with this one.

I also did a search and could find nothing so if someone pointed me in the right direction its appreicated.

Thanks - Brad.

(Also, if you need pictures I can upload some)

Hi Brad,

Not 100% sure, but the padlock you're describing is a low security one, and I highly doubt it has security pins in it. (Most standard locks in Aus don't)

If you want a challenge to begin your picking, try to find a Yale (YA1E) Rim cylinder. There are a few about, and they do have some security pins in them.

Good luck.

Think icedevil is right, i assemble simular padlocks to the 119/50 (genuine lockwood) and their are no spool pins provided in the pinning pack

If you want to try a toughie?

Get yourself a 6 pin XPT padlock (40mm or 50mm) made by Taiwan Import Company (TIC)

They are excellent quality, use mushrooms (spools) and are super tough to pick...but can be done with patience.

Many locksmith shops across Australia will sell them or order on request. Dont be talked into something else....they will try....
