2 Kwikset locks for $4

Postby steve0527 » 8 Jul 2008 22:58

I was at Liquidation World today and they had a bunch of locks in a box So I asked how much and they said $2 each. They came with 2 keys each and they are new, is this a good deal.

It's a very good deal. It's alot cheaper than buying them new off the shelf.

Go to the Habitat for Humanity's ReStore in your area (mentioned in another thread) and check too...I'm averaging about 25 cents per cylinder from there.

Im not positive but I believe these are replacements cylinders for kwickset deadbolts. If they are those i've seen the price range from $7 up to about $18 around me.

$2 dollars apiece for a brand new offbrand Kwickset like Faultless or Prospec is a good deal with two keys.

Simple answer: $2/deadbolt cylinder is ALWAYS a good price. :)

You can't even buy a coffee anymore for $2, and you probably spent more than that on gas going down to the store. To NOT buy the locks would have made the trip a waste of gas. Wouldn't want to do THAT. You'll end up with Al Gore and his minions after you, and then you'll need better locks than Kwiksets to protect you! ;)

You get what you pay for. There is a reason Kwikset is the Number One Choice of Builders. We have approx. 30 employees here that all would say the same thing if you asked this question. You get what you pay for.

I have sent a formal PM asking for info on the status of the products he sold. If he states he shipped them I have asked for a scan or picture of the receipt and or tracking number. I also requested that if buyers purchased shipping insurance then he needs to follow up on his packages and issue a refund to buyers. If I do not hear back in one week which I feel is fair then he will be added to the bad sellers list and after I talk with the other mods and admins he will most likely face other consequences.
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!
