Next up for my skill level?

So I'm trying to find out what kind of lock I should work on next, unfortunately I am too new to even know what that should be (I've only been picking seriously for about 3 or 4 months). I can get past pretty much all the easy stuff, and am working on some things with security pins now. I have heard master lock 140 or abus 41 thrown out there, along with master 911 and 932.

The hardest thing I have picked (I have a pretty limited collection) is a master 532, which according to the stickied post has some security pins (2 or 3 I think). So what is next? I have some harder locks, but I fear they might be a little above my level at this point (American 5200, Schlage Kyrptonite).

What would you say the next kind of lock for me would be after a 532?

The Master 930 / 6230 (same lock, different shackle sizes) or the similar looking Brinks 527 would be a good step up from the 532. I think I found both at my local Home Depot. They both have quite a few spool pins, and I believe the Brinks uses serrated spools. Congrats on the progress so far, best of luck

master 911 is a good idea, mine has all spools. very entertaining. also, it is re-pinnable so you can repin it to your specs. the best part though, is the name, color, and build. its one nice looking and feeling lock.

I went from your garden variety pin tumblers straight up to the american 5100, serrated, spoorated and all . Took a lot of research and many failed attempts, but now I can open it in under 20 seconds

Standard 6 pin schlage mortise cylinder. SCHLAGE brand with a couple spool top pins thrown in and one or two serratted top pins thrown in. Pul all of that on a medium difficulty bitting and it may keep you busy for a bit. After that, start again with a schlage everest with no security pins and then work your way into the security pins and a harder bitting.
