n2oah "Medeco Biaxial and Emhart's "biaxial" pins are totally different."

Yes, but that didn't stop Medeco from suing Corbin for patent infringement did it? Emhart lost that suit and had to pay Medeco a royalty on every cylinder sold until the original Medeco patent expired. You able to tell the difference between a sidebar and an interlocking pin system... I am humbled by your knowledge of the obvious. However you missed the also obvious point that both systems use pins which must be rotated and lifted to the correct position. Sorry if I confused you by using a generic term that is commonly used in reference to a specific manufacturers product

Do you have evidence of the lawsuit? I'd really like to see it.

What company produces generic locks based on Emhart?

I like the Emhart system a lot. It's a bump-proof lock with no more moving parts than a standard pin tumbler lock. It should be much more widely used, I think.

Yes the Emhart system was very good. But it was similar enough for Medeco to successfully sue them, forcing them to stop production. This is probably you don't see anything based on the Emhart design. It would be too expensive to fight Medeco (and then maybe Corbin-Russwin) in court to pursue the design. It might be a different story today due to the age of the patents so it might just be a matter of time before someone reintroduces the idea
