no pins?

so someone gave me an old laminated padlock with rusted shackle and i put the key in and it felt weird so i pulled it out and looked in it and there are no pins or springs in it what so ever i was just wondering how that happend or if it just rusted out

huh that interesting the only thing i can think of is the springs rusted and the pins got jamed in the upper chambers

did the key look anything like this?



Those types of padlocks don't use pins and springs. Better yet, post us a pic of your lock and a shot looking down into the keyway.

no it a cheap no name pin and tumbler made in china i would post a pic but i dont have a card reader on this pc when i shake it i can hear a few pins so im assuming he was right and the springs rusted away
