I'm back with another cutaway, this time it's an Interactive mortise cylinder.

I use this set of files. I also use a cutting disk on my dremel, as well as a small cylindrical bit for sanding. Anyways, I will list this after I can get the key copied, since the key belongs to the rim cutaway.

Sweet cutaway, nice job for a home project, I only have a angle grinder and I'm not sure how dainty those are with the delicates =)

Are you kidding me? I though it was impossible to make a cutaway with so simple tools! I mean, a good cutaway like this! Wow, I'm impressed. By the way, I can't see the set of files... is the link ok?

Cheers :)

Very clean cutaway considering the fact you used home tools! I must say, that hasto be one of the best hand cutaway locks I've seen & when i first saw it I thought you just made two sweeps with a 6mm mill bit.

I could see what I like to call a 'super cut' in your cutaway, a cut where you push the boundries of removing material.... and that was in the key on the other side, if you were to mill into the key half way into the crater for the pin & also the outer pin itself, you would be able to see the inner pin and how it sits on the bump in the key.

Top stuff though, can't wait to see more ;)

Here are some of my cutaways, I've only just started out myself & absolutely love doing it..... very theraputic :)

I did have more but sold quite a few which I was a bit sad about since they were out of my collection, but it's all for a good cause & I'm buying my own milling machine next week :D

Here are the first jobs for it ;)

absolutely stunning work.
i would love to see a MTL cutaway, wherein the outer pins are actually cut away,so you could observe the inner pin
characteristics and typical behavior of said pins ,under picking situations.
