Does anyone know what lock fits this type of key?

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

Does anyone know what lock fits this type of key?

Postby Engineer » 30 Mar 2009 15:43

I was given several of these keys and I've never seen anything like them before. I was told they might be American?

I don't even know if they are blanks, or ready cut?

They are about 1" in length. If anyone knows anything about them, then I'd be really grateful for any help!

We had keys like this which where for old roller door locks but the keys we had didn't have the cut out in the middle, also we had simmilar keys for generators and forklifts but they where single sided keys.

It appears to be some kind of stamped key, maybe for some kind of low security electronic switch or briefcase.

Ilco catalog indicates it is in the misellaneous grouping. It may be for a light switch or other similar power equipment, including forklifts, compactors, etc.

Looks like a key for light switches in schools
to keep the kids from messing with hallway, bathroom
lights etc. Prestamped steel.

almost like a light switch key except that this one has a bit of curve in it, I think its for the paper towel rack in a public restroom.

I second Raimundo's opinion.
