Anyone able to measure (with a caliper please) the internal diameter of the pin tube. Thanks

:)

I measure exactly 4mm, or .1560". There's probably some kind of specifications on the Medeco website, however I can't seem to find them at the moment.

I also get ~4mm [4.0005mm], measured with a digital micrometer. I suspect the 0.0005mm is either manufacturing defect or wear...

Excellent. That means I need a 2mm cutter ;)

Cheers :)

I know you're asking for tube diameter, but just looked up pin diameter is .135" for Biaxial pins. This would be in line with the measurements people are taking tonight.

hope it helps,

As long as the tubes are near enough 4mm that means a 2mm cutter will leave 1mm of doubt either side to hold the pin in the case. The most i work to on pin channels is .5mm, you simply can't cut by eye any closer.

Don't know how much this helps, but the "secret sauce" in my top tension wrenches is making the blade fit the top of the keyway as precisely as possible. 0.055 - 0.060 is the top of the keyway depending on wear and other factors in my limited experience. Since this slot bisects the pin chambers, Medeco's engineers obviously though it wasn't wide enough to cause problems. This is a bit smaller than your 2 mm proposed slot (which would be 0.079 inches) Anyway, something to think about.

I don't need to work to those sorts of tolerances, but thanks anyway :)

This is why I was asking.

I'm trying to get hold of some more Biaxials to cut away for some members to have a chance to own one. At the moment the locks themselves on their own are costing me around £28 to have delivered to the UK. I need to get hold of at least 5 for a good price to start this.

Thanks for the nice comments though :D I'm just abotu to go and cut the sidebar side now ;)

Cheers :D

The biaxial suffered slightly in the vice, like literally 0.01 flex. But a little bit of messing about should see it right again. I'll post the pics of the updated cutslater today ;)
