Well there's good news and good news.

I closed the Ebay account of only a week old because I had enough of being treated as the one not to be trusted (after providing a valid address, phone number, and credit card) just because it is a new account does not mean I should have to wait up to 21 days for my payment! Obviously they did not take into account the fact that people don't always leave feedback.... so if my buyer 'forgot' to leave me the feedback, the fundns will not automatically be released to me. I can't work like that, I havn't done before & that is what will simply not allow me to start doing so now.

The second bit of good news is that the buyer for the two Abloys & a random Abus has pulled out because the whole situation seems 'fishy' to him. This is good in the sense that I was only selling those locks from my private collection to earn money to start this little hobby come business up. But I have since had a few orders from America and Sweden to cutaway locks upon request and as a bonus I receive an identical lock as payment :D

Every cloud ;)

Dissasembling EVVA's 3KS is very tricky as the sliders also act as an anti pull out feature when they fall into the recesses inside the case.

The simplest way to do it is to remove the circlip from the rear of the cylinder, then get a pick and slide the sliders to dead center (looking through the keyway). You have to make sure the keyway is on its side to do this.

The sidebar & passive bar don't need setting to remove the assembly.

I assume that the bolt rod in the back needs to be removed too? When you say the keyway has to be on its side, do you mean in the unlocked/picked position? Thanks for the previous info

Baloo,

What he is saying is that the sliders in the 3KS can be left in blocking positions, so use a pick to move them all to the middle. This happens because the sliders are NOT spring biased, and have no "default" resting position.

To disassemble the 3KS, you cannot have the key inserted. This is because doing so will raise the sliders and the profile bar into positions that block removal of the cylinders. Disassembly is literally as easy as taking the c-clip off and pushing the cylinder out, but if any sliders are blocking removal you can use a pick to get them out of the way.

I took a padlock apart today in the fastest time for me.... 7 minutes, complete with the shackle.

Hey snowboy, how do you usually go about finding the shackle retaining pin, I usually blowtorch it and quench it and it changes color.... but that takes about 3 minutes to do and that might make the rest a tad squeezed to fit everything in a 7 minute span.

I push it into the case by about 2mm to expose it, find a centre on the dowel and mill out with a 1.5mm cutter then screw a course threaded screw into it and prise it out with pliers.

I have a padlock dissasembly thread in this forum.

Just adding that snowboy's cutaway's are great. I've had to take some pins out to make it more my skill level. I can even see the pick inside the lock. Works with american picks fine, I didn't need slims like I thought.

I noticed a bit on ebay on the last page, the 21 day garbage has me done with it. I had to wait 21 days to get $300. The buyer replied late on the 24th after I had my money. Wanting a refund with numerous lies. Glad I work now, and don't have to care about selling on ebay.

I am fed up with ebay too. They pulled the same thing when I sold a car stereo, held my funds like Im some kind of crook even though I had 100% positive feedback rating. What really makes me angry is the fees they charge. I sold some gold and platinum coins on there and they charged me $121.50, followed by paypal (ebay) charging me $102.87. These transfer fees used the shipping to calculate the totals, so in the end I took a net loss. I will only bother with ebay from now on if I need to get rid of some garbage I don't care about.

Anyways, the cutaway abloy is really nice, cant wait to see your finished medeco

I was 'Pro-Locks' on there with a new account to start this thing up, and they done this to me. I sold £300 worth of locks in my first week and wouldnt release the money till positive feedback was left! I was also using my paypal account of nearly 10 years and they still thought I was up to no good.

Anyhoo, here's an updated pic of my cutaways at the moment there are a few designs missing because i keep selling them off, but there's a few there I will never sell (the assa and medeco especially).
