Schlage everest info please

Postby Baloopaloop » 31 May 2009 20:35

Hey peoples, I saw a schlage everest on ebay and it had like 15 bids, so I was wondering what makes that particular model different from other schlages? Anything interesting on the inside?

Schlage Everest Has a check pin which must be " picked" before the cylinder will turn , additionally there are some restricted keyways to give it a bit more security from duplication .

Oh thanks, I knew one of schlage models was like that but I didn't know the name of it. Anyone know of any other innovative schlages that are fairly new?

Keep shopping, I bet its cheaper somewhere on the ebay.

Not much to them, shove a flat tooth pick in the bottom of the keyway and pick it.

have you looked at the primus?
(btw, i have designed a simple bypass tool for the everest check pin,and will be uploading the vid of me picking a padlock version,
today,or tomorrow...will post a link in "show your skills on cam" if you are interested.)

Everest wasn't designed to make picking more difficult, it's simply a way to increase key control. I wouldn't call picking that check pin any kind of "bypass" because it's just so trivial.

it becomes more than trivial if you are unaware of its existence...
( a fellow picker in the UK just drilled out one...had he known of the checkpin he would have saved his lock/core.)
so all things are relative,it would seem.
