the medeco cam locks only have one set of pins. no sheer line, they have to lifted and rotated at the same time to set the side bar. it's easier to rake them than spp. that's probably be the most notifiable feature. other than that i'm not too familiar with them.

Those things will give you a fun time. There are no drivers, but the pins still need to be rotated and raised to the correct height... and since they're driverless, instead of channels running down the side of the pins, there are little holes for each sidebar leg to slot into instead. Sounds like the stuff of nightmares, but they're not as bad as they sound.

Just like any medeco, the pins can only rotate fore and aft by 20° and they should all have some kind of master keying, which will make your job easier. Keep in mind that the pins are still spooled and will contain shallow "false" holes though; if you lock into one of those, you'll need to reset and start again.

It's not a fun lock to pick, more a collectible one.
I disassembled mine, enjoy it!

Cheers :)

"not a fun lock to pick" is an understatement. I can visualize hell as a place where you have a nice set of picks and a 5 tumbler medeco cam lock to play with for eternity. In my opinion, the cam lock is far more difficult to pick than the pin tumbler mechanism, especially with the "false gates" that Medeco now puts on the tumblers.

right now i have a simple 3 pin one i can see how raking would work quite well. Im pretty sure worst case scenario a plug puller would easilly pop the cam off the back and pull the core out since it only seems to be two weak screws holding it in :?

Didn't know there were 3 pin models. Mine have 5 pins, all serrated, and the cam is held on with a rather large nut attaching to the molded plug. near impossible to pick.
