Medeco Logic Disassembly

Hello!!

I am trying to figure out how to disassemble one of my Super Awesome Mega-Ultra Secure Medeco Logic mortise cylinders. After removing the 2 set screws from the back of the plug, and then inserting the key and rotating the plug, the plug does not move forward at all. Does anyone know the trick to this?

I have noticed with a few of my medecos that it is hard to pull out because of the sidebar, ether try pulling a bit harder or do not rotate the plug, there is a groove for the sidebar when it is not rotated. hope this helps

Thanks for your reply. The Medeco Logic locks are electromechanical and do not have the traditional medeco sidebar and springs. The cylinder does not have set screws on the top because there aren't pin chambers.

I dont think many people on here have logic cylinders, so it may be hard to find help. try finding the patent or any other kind of technical drawing related to the lock and see fi you can find anything that might be impeding the plug.

I tried for a while, and I couldn't find the logic patent. I don't think that is it because if you look down a bit the key in the drawing looks completely different than the logic keys. I found a patent for something similar to the nexgen, but nothing like the logic. Marc probably knows the patent number, maybe you can email him and ask.

That's the only one I found but I think it's not CLIQ technology . I just have the manual for the Logic software. Maybe Ikon has filed the patent because thats the version of CLIQ technology that medeco used.

Look for Ikon items if I remember correctly the medeco is the same.

Now with photos.

Still no luck. I've already tried to put shims down the slot in the back of the mortise cylinder. I'm pretty careful because I don't know what's inside the slot.
