Hey, How would i go about removing the cylinder from this lock?

Is it by drilling what seems to be somesort of brass retainer pin?

Yeah the bypass was no problem, Thats how i had to get into the filing cabinet in the first place.


Oh well i guess im just gonna have to go at this with a drill.....if it messes up Irl learn the hard way :D

If you drill the retainer you still need to pick it to get the plug out. Why not get a key from the number on it ?

Its no problem i can spp this baby in seconds and its quite fun cus the keyway is quite small for my regular picks and tension tools.

I just wanna have a look at the mechanism inside thats all.

I also dont think there is a key biting number on it (its a 5 pin lock).

each different manufacturer applied their own key codes and prefixes. I believe the first letters determined the person who built that cylinder (their initials).

The thing i dont understand then is that this is a 5 pin lock yet only 3 numbers are printed so these cant be the biting of the key. :?

They probably aren't, but due to MACS restrictions they may only have 1000 possible combination.

Unlikely though, I believe that the entire code "SC154" corresponds to the keyway and bitting.

Space and depth is different for the SC series I think. It would have been one of the old Yale restricted series.
