Lockwood 120/40

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

Lockwood 120/40

Postby chazzlocks » 13 May 2010 8:40

I've recently purchased a lockwood 120/40 as a step up from the easy locks i'd been practising on. I'm having a few problems with it though, mainly the keyway is very small ang jagged and the tension wrench isn't easily positioned for access to the pins. I also suspect there are a few spools in there. Does anybody have any tips for picking this particular lock? help would be appreciated.

cheers
chazz

Hi chazzlocks,

welcome to the forum.

If you're talking about the Australian Lockwood it's a very well made lock, so it's not easy to pick.
I think it hasn't any security pin (I may be wrong).

Start with just a couple of pins as suggested in many guides.

Cheers :)

120/40 has two anti-pick pins. I would work on some other locks with anti picks such a the brass master padlocks (non laminated) as they are generally easier to deal with than the lockwood.
