Repinning a common dbl.prof.cyl. using fabricated tool

Postby yono » 17 Aug 2010 12:22

Hi friends, here is a video that i hope will help starter locksmiths, i use an
open double profile housing to give at least some in depth knowledge on technique on how to
1. install the top pin (in coordination- sequence with the plug follower)
2. the advantage of using a close tip plug follower
3. holding the lock cylinder with a grip to avoid slippage
4. opening the "C" with improvised tool.
5. installing clips with an improvised tool
6. position in returning the core to the cylinder
7. installing the cam activator.
8. installing the cam.and re-clipping the cyl.core.
note. this "open double profile cylinder" can also be use for lockpicking
practice, and can easily reset the bottom pin sequence as wish by
simple bringing the inner core to the cut part of the cylinder and
there you can reset any pinning sequence you like, without
removing the core from the cylinder housing.
