Master key

Postby Heero_Kirashami » 15 Dec 2010 0:37

So I picked a lock (can't remember brand name), and it turned about 180 degrees until it just stopped and there was a click. I turned it back to its original position and now the lock is stuck; it won't open with the original key.

It seems possible that the lock was master keyed. Would it be possible to "reset" the lock with a master key?

It sounds like the lock you picked is not yours to pick AND that it is in use...

This site is primarily geared towards hobbyists who pick lock which are not mounted and not in use. You should contact a reputable locksmith to fix the lock, as it will need to be rekeyed. This may be a significant problem if the locksmith is not the one who set up the system. There really isn't anything else for you to do, besides not picking any more locks which aren't yours.
