Need help with Master U-lock

Postby figmuffin » 9 Apr 2011 18:55

I am somewhat new to lockpicking, only a year or so. I am good with pin tumbler and ok with wafer but this one stumps me. A friend of mine just gave me this bike lock that she lost the key to. I want to figure it out so I can practice on it. It seems to have 5 or so independently moving plates. I attached a few pictures of it. Any help would be wonderful. Sorry for the huge pictures, I cant seem to make it smaller.

That's a disk lock... I doubt you're going to have much success picking it if you're not a very experienced lockpicker.
The BiLock isn't the first bump proof pin tumbler because it isn't a pin tumbler.
And it's called a shear line, not a "sheerline".

I'll second that.

You've made a mistake I've also made with the exact same locking mechanism from MasterLock. You're likely not going to be able to pick it
without the proper tools, and additionally, disc detainer locks are an advanced topic, so details about picking them them cannot be openly
discussed in this area of the forum.

Sorry mate.

Thanks for all the info! for now I will just keep it for a later date, seems like it could be a fun challenge later.
