This is something new but I'm moving office spaces and want to implement a RFID doorway for our officespace.
Does not need to be uber high security as the lobby has a guard, etc. The new space is MUCH bigger than what I need and I plan to sublet some of the space.
So I'm leaning on a RFID for 2 purposes. One to keep records of which party comes in/leaves as well as just ease of key-change/locking out access. The door to our office is just some hollowskin door.
For all you lock gurus, can you point me in some direction on some RFID locks/systems ya'll can advise.
@pingable:
The bigger question is what type of lock will your landlord at your new office space allow you to install ?
Are there any life safety codes at play based on this office door being part of an egress pathway ?
Does this lock have to be able to work with the landlord's master key system if one exists ?
AND -- Will your landlord/AHJ even permit the sub-letting of the occupancy to persons or businesses not associated with your company/business ? (This can sometimes have an impact on the number of exits you need and other protective requirements)...
When you have a better idea of what type of locks you have to be compatible with I can offer you some stand-alone solutions for access which can include RFID...
