Lock won't open just spins

Hi there I'm Chris and am a newb to picking first of all a have picked numerous 2 3 and 5 lever mortice locks and thought I would move onto cylinder locks like on upvc doors I have come across a problem with a union 6 pin lock I can rake it in about 10 seconds but when the lock turns it doesn't unlock the lock it turns 360 then the pins re engage no matter how many times I re rake it it still just spins 360 then the pins pop back in I have held the pins in place while turning and it then spins 720 and still doesn't unlock any help would be appreciated btw the lock works fine with the key thanks all

If it is a Euro style lock then the tip of the key probably enters into the rotating cam (the piece that engages the locking mechanism). You may need to use a tool to turn the cam as you are rotating the cylinder around with it.

That would be my thought on it anyway, give it a try and let us know if it works.

Thanks so much you are a star I had to rake it till it turned then take out the tension tool and push the rake in as far as I could and turn and it worked many thanks
