I'm guessing since Master Lock moved their operations down there, you'll probably find a lot of those and the usual cheapo padlocks.

Well it's four years later so you've probably found the answers you were looking for. For newcomers, though, Mexican cylinder door locks are radically different than what you find in the United States. To lock or unlock them requires around a half-dozen turns or so, and this is done for security as these locks are, to the best of our knowledge, either extremely difficult or virtually impossible to pick.

Haha, yeah very old thread man, but since we're here, any examples of these multiple-turn locks? Since they are 'virtually impossible" to pick, I need one to violate with my picks.

I got a couples of this padlocks and deadbolt from mexico
when i went there, also i got a couples of locks from costa rica too
i can tell you they are made from China
i did not see any master padlocks at least the places i went to
one of the name of the padlocks is boxer
the deadbolt is similar to the kwikset locks we have here in the U.S
5 pins not that hard to pick
i did not see any 6 pins or hight security locks there.

My condo in Puerto Vallarta uses Schlage A line locksets. Go to any of the big box stores and you'll see everything they have is imported. Only "premium" locks are made in the USA these days.
